Use Your Rod-Lift Wells in Copilot

Add PetroBench to a Copilot Studio agent. Copilot can then find wells, read equipment, and run RodSim simulations with the permissions you already have.

Connect Copilot in Four Steps

Microsoft Copilot connects through a Copilot Studio agent. Your Power Platform data policies also apply.

MCP access is off by default. Your PetroBench account team turns it on for your organization.

  1. 1

    Add a tool

Open your agent, go to Tools, select Add a tool, then New tool. Under Create new, select Model Context Protocol.

  2. 2

    Paste the server URL

Name the server PetroBench and add a short description.

    Server URL
    https://app.petrobench.com/mcp
  3. 3

    Choose OAuth

Select OAuth 2.0, then Dynamic discovery. Select Create, then Next.

  4. 4

    Connect and add

Select Create a new connection, sign in to PetroBench, then select Add to agent.

Try These on Your Wells

Start by asking Copilot to list your wells. If it returns wells from your organization, the connection works. Then pick a job below.

You Decide What Copilot Can Do

You pick the permissions when you connect. Copilot only sees tools that match them and your role.

Every call is recorded with your user and token. Disconnect at any time under Settings > Connected Apps.

Connecting Copilot

Short answers for engineers and IT.

No. Copilot signs in with OAuth. You approve the connection on the PetroBench consent screen in your browser.

No. MCP access is off by default. Your PetroBench account team turns it on when your organization asks.

Only what your role and the approved scopes allow, inside your organization. Without write scopes, Copilot never sees write tools.

Only with write scopes that you tick when you connect. AI clients can make mistakes, so review any change before you confirm it, and keep write access to the users who need it.

Open Settings > Connected Apps in PetroBench and disconnect it. To change scopes, disconnect and connect again.
